Bars, restaurants and shops in Palizzi Marina
There are not many of them, but there is exactly enough! Here are our recommendations. You will eat and drink well at reasonable prices.
Pasticceria Dangel
Many people like to enjoy breakfast where they find the very best pastries — and this is the place!
Bar Roberta
Others prefer having breakfast with a view over the main piazza, and at Bar Roberta they also serve the best ice cream in town.
Please note: they also sell granita, but this is not the place to buy it — see further below. Stick to the ice cream here, because it is truly excellent!
Bar Plaza
Bar Plaza is a rustic bar with great hospitality. It is easy to make new friends and start a conversation here.
Here you can enjoy a special aperitivo. You get plenty of delicious food, and the portions are generous.Â
And when many go together, they often prepare extra dishes and serve whatever is in season. It can be vegetables, vegetarian dishes, fish (like the one below), meat, cured ham, and much more.
Trattoria Prioetto
Trattoria Prioetto has a large menu, a wood-fired oven for pizza, grilled meat, and much more.
This is the perfect place to enjoy a “giro pizza” with friends — and finish with the house tiramisù. (I usually order it in advance to make sure you get to try it.)
Vineria Oinos
Vineria Oinos is the pride of the village: a gourmet restaurant people travel far to visit, and they also produce their own wine.
Their speciality is fish dishes, but when we are a group, we can pre-order vegetarian dishes or other special requests.
Bars and restaurants at the beach
Lido Clarissa
Murotto beach
Palizzi Marina has two beaches, and the two places below are located on “the other beach,” in the part of town called Murotto.
You can walk from one beach to the other. In some places there are rocks along the shore that you need to pass, but it is not difficult. You can also walk through the old part of town or follow the road.
It is no more than a 10-minute walk away.
Night Life
THIS is where you find the very best granita in town!
Gianni, the man behind this masterpiece, has been making granita for more than 40 years, and I promise — you will not be disappointed.
They also serve very good pizza and many other dishes, so why not go there for pizza and finish with a granita?
L'ultima spiaggia
Here they serve different small dishes, and Angelo and his wife enjoy taking care of their guests while everyone enjoys the view over the beach.
Shops and market in Palizzi Marina
Read about the shops, opening hours, and where to find them:
Il forno incantato
Giovanna runs this small and charming shop together with her husband, who is a baker. Here you will find fresh bread and other baked goods every day.
“Il forno incantato” means “The Enchanted Oven.”
This is the typical small local corner shop where you are always welcomed with a smile.
They sell everyday groceries, drinks, and they also have a fresh food counter with cured ham, cheese, olives, and often fresh pasta.
And if you ask Giovanna, she will gladly prepare a panino for you to bring to the beach.
It is called “un panino farcito.”
